Close your research tabs
without losing them.

One click saves the tabs you aren't using to a shelf on your computer and closes them. Reopen any of them whenever you want.

Clear your tabs with one shortcut.

  1. Press

Press Alt Shift S, then Enter. Or click Clean tabs in the toolbar.

  2. Keep

The tab you're on and your last five active tabs stay open. You pick the number. Pinned tabs and anything playing sound stay too.

  3. Reopen

Everything else goes to your shelf, grouped by when you cleaned and by site. Click a tab to bring it back.

Find any tab again later.

Smart restore

Reopen three tabs at a time: the ones you used last, work tabs, entertainment tabs, or a random pick.

Undo

If you delete the wrong tab, click Undo in the message that appears.

Backups

Export your shelf to a file. Import it on another computer.

Hover preview

Hover a tab to see its full title, its address, and when you saved it.

Pro

Pro reopens tabs where you left off.

Resume Points

Tabs come back at your scroll position, the second you paused a video, or the line you highlighted. Tabs with unsaved typing are never closed.

Autopilot

Shelves tabs you haven't touched for a while, anywhere from 15 minutes to a day. It skips pinned tabs, tabs playing sound, and sites you list, and it pauses while you're away from the computer.

Questions about Tab Shelf

Where are my tabs stored?

In your browser's storage on this computer. Tab Shelf has no server and no account. If you buy Pro, the license key is checked with our payment provider, and that's the only thing that leaves your device.

Does it work in Microsoft Edge?

Yes. Tab Shelf works in Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Why would it ask to read pages?

Resume Points needs to note your scroll position, video time, or highlight when a tab is shelved. The browser asks for that permission only when you turn Resume Points on.

What happens if I uninstall?

The browser deletes the shelf with the extension. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.

How is this different from bookmarks?

Bookmarks are for pages you want to keep. The shelf is for pages you want out of the way for now. You can reopen a whole session in one click, or clear it just as fast.

Is Tab Shelf an alternative to OneTab?

Yes. Both turn open tabs into a list you can reopen later. Tab Shelf also keeps your most recent tabs open, groups the shelf by site, and lets you search it. Pro adds Resume Points and Autopilot.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. You pay $4.99 once.

Give your tabs somewhere to go.

It's free, and your tabs never leave your computer.
