Save from the right-click menu
Updated October 27, 2026
Right-click any page and choose Shelve this tab to save it to your shelf and close it. Right-click a link and choose Save link to Tab Shelf to add the link without opening it. Both land on your shelf with the other saved tabs.
Shelve the page you are on
- Right-click an empty part of the page.
- Choose Shelve this tab.
The page is saved and the tab closes. With page access on, Tab Shelf also records a Resume Point, and Pro reopens the page at the same scroll spot. If the page holds unsaved typing or a playing video, it stays open and the toolbar icon shows !.
Save a link without opening it
- Right-click a link.
- Choose Save link to Tab Shelf.
The toolbar icon shows +1 for a few seconds. If you highlight the link text first, Tab Shelf uses it as the title.
Where they appear
Saved items go into a session labelled Saved at the top of your shelf. Items saved within the same hour share one session, so a day of right-clicks doesn't make a day of tiny cards.
Questions
What is the difference between shelving a tab and saving a link?
Shelving saves the page you are on and closes its tab. Saving a link adds an address you haven't opened, so nothing closes.
Does this need extra permissions?
It uses the browser's context menu permission, which has no warning at install. Resume Points still ask for page access separately.
Does this work for every page?
It works on normal web pages. Browser pages, such as settings, and the new tab page can't be shelved.
Give your tabs somewhere to go.
It's free, and your tabs never leave your computer.
