Move from OneTab to Tab Shelf
Updated October 27, 2026
Open OneTab, copy its export, and paste it into Import links on your Tab Shelf. Every link lands on your shelf as one session, with its title, grouped by site. It takes about a minute, and OneTab keeps its own copy until you delete it.
Move your OneTab list in four steps
- Click the OneTab icon to open your OneTab page.
- Choose Import / export. Under Export URLs, copy the text. Each line is a link followed by
|and its page title. - Open your shelf, scroll to the bottom, and choose Import links.
- Paste the text and press Import. Tab Shelf shows how many links it found before you confirm.
Your links appear as a new session labelled Imported. Search them, reopen one, or press Restore all on the session.
What carries over
- Links and titles. Both come across. A link with no title shows its address instead.
- Repeats. A link that appears twice in the export is imported once.
- Not carried over. OneTab's groups, group names, notes and the date each group was saved. Everything lands in one session, grouped by site.
Once you are on Tab Shelf
New tabs are cleaned with one click: your current tab and your last few active tabs stay open, and the rest go to the shelf. See how Tab Shelf differs from OneTab for the full comparison.
Questions
Do I have to delete my OneTab list first?
No. Importing does not change OneTab. Keep it until you are happy with Tab Shelf.
Can I import more than a few hundred links?
Yes. Large lists import in one go. If you have many thousands, import in parts so the list is easy to check.
Where do the imported links appear?
In one session at the top of your shelf, labelled Imported, grouped by site.
Give your tabs somewhere to go.
It's free, and your tabs never leave your computer.
